Spain’s Borrowing Costs hit Record High, as Hopes fade over Bailout

Hopes that a European bailout to her banks would ease the pressure on the Spanish economy evaporated today as Madrid’s borrowing costs rose to their highest rate since the launch of the euro in 1999.

Spain’s benchmark 10-year bond yield is now at  6.81%, with Italy’s  10-year bond yield rising to 6.28%. The interest rates are seen as unsustainable in the long run for two countries weighed down by huge debts.

The Ratings agency Fitch has also downgraded the creditworthiness of 18 of Spain’s banks, after cutting its ratings on Spain’s two biggest banks, Santander and BBVA on Monday.

BREAKING NEWS

Gdansk, Group C

Spain showed plenty of life in the first half, though the best chances went to an Italian team who for once did not sit back and allow their more fluent rivals to take over. This Spanish team are World and European champions, and anyone who thought that they may have lost the hunger to succeed or were too tired after a hectic domestic season were proved wrong, although they did not makeΒ good use of the possession that they enjoyed with the best two chances of the first half going to the Italians. That state of affairs quickly changed in the early minutes of the second with an attacking Spain getting three clearΒ opportunities, although the mercurial Mario Balotelli failed to make the best chanceΒ of the match countΒ when he decided toΒ take his time after getting the better of Sergio Ramos.

Within three minutes of being replaced by Antonio Di Natalie,Β Italy finally put oneΒ pastΒ a Spanish team who at that momentΒ appeared to lack bite.

Of course, we are talking about Spain here and withinΒ 3 minutes of that goal CescΒ Fabregas put the European ChampionsΒ back in business.

Spain continuedΒ to threaten from now onwards and with fifteen minutes to go, Fernando Torres who had just come on as a substitute failed to convertΒ a break after being tackled by the ItalianΒ goalkeeper.Β Gianluigi Buffon.

Italy had another clear chance which went begging, although Spain would have felt robbed had that gone in given the amount of possessionΒ and the creativity their playersΒ enjoyed which was highlighted by a secondΒ Torres chance whichΒ was this time beautifully lofted over the bar.

If Italy figured during this time,Β it was because the Spanish were too busyΒ attacking to watch their back.

At the end, the fact that they did not walk away with a win had less to do with Italy and more to do withΒ the fact thatΒ Spain have notΒ yet hit full gear.

Elder statesmen in a barren landscape..

With Italy the latest nation to suffer under the burden of being linked to a single currency, very real questions are being asked about the future of the Euro.

TheEconomistΒ says that Europe has not addressed the fundamentalΒ changes around her – namely the rise of a younger slimmerΒ Β Asia at the cost of this grand once great old man.

Today’s Financial Times outlines a three-trierEurope with France-Germany as the engine, the driver of a system thatΒ relegates eastern Europe to the periphery.

Of course,Β Gordon Brown did warn everyone that France – like Germany – was exposed because of her banks.

So what will become a unit that once touted as a serious economic challenger to the UnitedΒ States of America?

And will things ever be the same again?

The international system created by Europe was never perfect, and frankly the world outside this club of nations was roped into joining it.

Some powers suffered like China, some simply vanished – like the Ottoman Empire, whose lossΒ the Islamic World has been suffering the consequences of to this day, especially in a world order based on power.

The history of the end of the ‘Sick Man of Europe’ can be traced back to the creation of the tiny kingdom of Greece, a cause championed byΒ Shelley and Byron.

The behaviour of the main players at that time towards this once great and nowΒ grand old man was racist.

(Ever wonder where Adolf Hitler some of his ideas from?)

Now a century or so on, with the Eurozone crisis sparked by a bankrupt Greece, how will the main players on the international scene deal with their once great andΒ now grand friend.

With America already signalling thatΒ she will be looking East,Β how will China viewΒ this potentiallyΒ barren economic wasteland, which still fights wars against weaker nations, whilst lecturing others about human rights?

πŸͺ– Colonel Gaddafi is stripped, paraded and executed (and its all gone viral) πŸ‡±πŸ‡Ύ

Β

In the wreckage of the country that he had built from nothing, he pleaded for mercy, but brutes don’t understand what that means.

The men who had cornered the fallen dictator of Libya now set about humiliating him.

Never mind that he was a 69 year old man who barely possessed his full faculties.

Never mind also that everything he loved had been taken away from him at the last count he has lost three of sons and of course his adopted daughter in a previous bombing raid.

The men who cornered him and those who support them claim to be Muslims, they say that they understand what God’s last Prophet taught a community that now embraces perhaps a quarter of the earth’s population.

Islam does not permit cold blooded executions, or the celebration of some one’s death.

NATO says this has nothing to do with them, in the same way that British and American secret service claimed the downfall of Mossediq and his consequent humilation had nothing to do with them.

That was a lie, as is the lie that is currently being perpetrated by Cameron and Sarkozy.

They have blood on their hands, perhaps the blood of many who have perished in this pointless enterprise.

One day the world may live to regret the actions of these foolish and reckless men who in their vanity believe that they have a divine mission to bringΒ democracy to those who have never tasted it.

The people of Iran never forgot how their leader was humiliated all those years ago and the reaction came in 1979 with the establishment of a Islamic state.

That may yet happen in the chaos that is now Libya.

The Great Jewish Conspiracy

ANALYSIS – Jews are ruling the world, they’ve hijacked the seats of power and have been following their agenda for a century or two, perhaps more… who knows?

The coward who brought murder and mayhem to the streets of Norway certainly thinks so.

And the tragedy is some Muslims – who are appalled and frustrated at the way the Palestinians have suffered at the hands of the Zionist state of Israel – also share this belief.

Yes, God’s chosen people have certainly been successful in all fields – not just financial, but in well  everything, they have always shone above everyone else.

The trouble is that for more than thousand years, Western Europe has never appreciated those talents, it was the Islamic World where they prospered and rightly became stars.

Sometimes, we were lucky enough for them to become Muslims, and when they did their contributions became that much more significant because Islam adds to a brilliant mind – it never removes from that talent.

From the Crusades to the Concentration Camps, Western Europe has officially murdered their Jewish cousins, before that well it was common place to butcher those who had killed the son of God.

Muslims have never murdered Jews to this day, which is something that those who feel it necessary to lecture us about the Holocaust need to be reminded of, as do of course all those who subscribe to that theory about a Great Jewish Conspiracy.
