BRASILIA Dilma Rousseff, who was suspended from office of Presidency, now faces a vote in Brazil’s Senate which is expected to strip her of a position she twice won at the ballot box.
Two thirds – 54 of the 81 senators – need to vote in favour of her impeachment for that to happen.
Brazil’s first female president has been defending herself during a marathon session at the Senate which began on Monday and is expected to run until Wednesday.
Dilma Rousseff says she’s the victim of a political coup d’etat and that Brazil’s democracy is in danger.
Her accusers say she took illegal state loans to mask the state’s budget hole in 2014. Brazil’s economy has suffered from plunging commodity prices and weakening demand from China.
ANKARA – Turkey has bombed Kurdish positions since the ‘liberation’ of Jarablus from Daesh. The US backed Kurds known as YPG are regarded as terrorists by Ankara which do not want to see the creation of a KURDISTAN on it’s border. Syria regards all it’s territory as sovereign.

PALESTINE – Elections for Mayors and local councils will be held in 425 communities in West Bank and Gaza on Oct 8. This will be the first test of popularity of Fatah and Hamas although Hamas activists face arrest by Israeli authorities if they campaign openly. Gaza has been punished by Israel with a siege after Palestinians voted for Hamas in 2006.
