LONDON – The intervention which led to the overthrow of Libyan dictator Muamor Gaddafi was not based on ‘accurate intelligence’ and has led to the emergence of DAESH in the north African state – a report by the foreign affairs committee said. The Nato air campaign that was conducted by the UK and France in aid of rebels had lacked a coherent strategy. The committee also said the threat to civilians posed by Gaddafi to justify this military intervention had been ‘overstated’.
