LONDON – THE CHANCELLOR said Labour’s acting leader had taken ‘a step forward’ in recognising why her party had lost the general election.
Harriet Harman had ordered Labour MPs to not oppose the government’s welfare bill that included limiting child tax credits to two children – a stance that was criticised by three of the party’s leadership candidates as well as a growing number of Labour MPs.
