HAIFA – Israel has made twelve arrests in connection with the fires that have burned for four days. PM Benjamin Netanyahu said if the fires were started deliberately they would be treated as an act of terrorism. Education minister Naftali Bennett tweeted: ‘Only those to whom the country doesn’t belong are capable of burning it.’

HEBRON – Israel’s military says it killed the knife welding attacker as he tried to stab a soldier. Some 217 Palestinians have been killed by Israel since October 2015. Most of the attacks occurring in Hebron where Israel has established a colony in the middle of Palestinian land.
