The cold blooded murder of drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich and the appalling events that followed are as horrific as any scene that has emerged in this war on terror.
The blood curdling savagery displayed by his alleged attackers and the manner in which they gloried in the aftermath, is similar to the way in which the killers of Colonel Gaddafi, and Saddam Hussein before him, first taunted and then later basked in the ‘glow’ of their victims’ slaughter.
Only days before this murder of course, there was the video of a western-backed rebel eating the heart of a Syrian soldier, and calling on others to do the same.
The Foreign issued a statement in which they said that these actions were proof of how the on-going conflict in Syria had distorted the mindset of those who were fighting to be free.
The rebels who are attempting topple Bashar al Asad have been backed by the CIA – and God only knows what would happen to him if these thugs get their way
Perhaps, it was the descration of the Syrian soldier that ‘radicalised’ the men accused of perpetrating perhaps the single worst incident to have visited Britain. in living memory.
Yes, this was even worse than 7/7.
The war on terror has opened a Pandora’s box, and the longer it continues, the greater the likelihood that we will be seeing more horrendous images emerging both, here and abroad.
And that doesn’t bode well anyone – especially Muslims who are the real victims every time someone decides to take the law into their own hands, whether that is an individual or a state.
