Shocking video footage of assault on magazine office in Paris. Shows execution of policeman

ANALYSIS – This is the chilling moment that the gunmen who attacked the Paris offices of the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, changed from maniacs on a mission to just maniacs.
Having killed the editor and chief cartoonist, as well as opening fire on a number of other people in the office, one of the assailants turns his weapon on a policeman who pleads for his life.
The policeman is executed and with that vanishes any pretence that these men were soldiers fighting in the path of God. One of them may have uttered that God is Great and proclaimed that he had avenged the Prophet, but neither God or his last Prophet would ever condone the murderous actions of these three men, for God is love and his last Prophet conducted every moment of his life with the awareness that every life is precious before the sight of God.

🚨 Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Obama and the state of race relations in Modern America 🇺🇲

ANALYSIS – Barack Obama’s Presidency has been a disappointment to anyone hoping that America would change direction. To date, he has launched attacks on six countries through drone strikes and assassinations that could one day be copied by nations like Russia and China.  And with troop build up once again in Iraq, as well as an extension of the stay in Afghanistan, the Nobel Peace Prize winning President has proved to be little more than a black Ronald Reagan – shiny with little else behind the steady smile. But it’s the scenes emerging in Ferguson and Cleveland following the deaths of two young black men at the hands of law enforcement that are proving to be the defining images of this Black President’s two term stay at the White House.

image

They are Michael Brown who was shot dead by a white police man, who the Grand Jury has just decided will not face any charges, and 12-year-old Tamir Rice who was shot dead by policemen.

image

Tamir was playing with a replica gun when police were alerted by a caller clearly alarmed by the sight of an armed black man playing on the swings. In both cases  law enforcement believed they were acting in self defence – Michael was shot several times, whilst Tamir twice. Yet, the protesters in Ferguson some of whom have been violent, and those in Cleveland clearly do not accept the offered version of events, for they like most African Americans see nothing of the American dream – they never have and probably never will. The only difference now is that the word racism has been taken out of public debate, for America has a black president and he won twice. Never mind that the conditions in which African Americans, as well as Native Americans, have to endure every single day of their lives. America’s founding communities are trapped in a cycle of poverty, poor education, non existent health care with zero prospects of bettering themselves  – all of which is backed up by a law enforcement that civil rights campaigners say has simply incorporated anti terror measures into policing Black neighbourhoods, at a time America is enduring a deep and still unfolding recession. So, as the skies of Fergusion and Cleveland, as well as elsewhere, light up with scenes of protest and violence from demonstrators and law enforcement, perhaps the most telling comment about the state of race relations in modern day America after six years of having a black President at the helm comes from Mayor Gulliani. Blacks, he said, were more likely to be killed by another black than a white police officer.

Aurora, Batman, Colorado, Denver, GUN crime, James Holmes

At least 12 people have been killed and 50 wounded, after a gunman wearing a gas mask opened fire into a crowded auditorium that had come to see the new Batman film, near Denver in Colorado.

Another two victims are reported to be in a “critical condition.”

The gun man has been named as 24-year-old James Holmes, who also told police that he had booby-trapped in his flat in Aurora, Denver.

Suspect: James Holmes

Witnesses said a man wearing a gas mask opened fire after tossing a tear gas canister in the auditorium as movie-goers watched The Dark Knight Rises in the city of Aurora, at around midnight. He opened fire during an action scene in the summer blockbuster. There was chaos as movie-goers, some dressed in costume as heroes and villains, fled.

Ten people were killed at the cinema and two others died later in hospital of their wounds.

The gunman was arrested in a car park nearby in possession of a rifle, handgun and knife.

Another gun was recovered from the theatre.

Police revised down the death toll from 14 earlier. They said about 50 people had been shot, including the deceased.

Police have described the explosives in the suspect’s apartment as “very sophisticated.”

Police say the suspect had been a student at the University of Colorado School of  Medicine in Denver until he dropped out last month.

In a statement from the San Diego family home, the Holmes family, Robert and Arlene, said they were very shocked by what had happened and that their “hearts went out” to the victims.

Teenager’s killer freed

Dean Davis: died after being shot in the head

Byline Nayab Chohan

A teenager who was jailed for killing a boy of 13 has walked free  –  six weeks after receiving his sentence. Dean Davis was killed as he watched DVDs with his friends when one of them put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger as a “prank”, believing it could not fire.

His killer, Renelle Coke, 18, was sentenced to two years in prison after the judge at his trial six weeks ago accepted his “genuine distress and remorse” over the shooting.

But Coke, who has already spent a year on remand, has been released under the socalled 50 per cent rule, under which it is usual for a criminal to serve only half of their term.

Dean’s family say they are disgusted that their son’s killer did not even serve the full time of his “derisory” sentence. Because the Attorney-General told them they would not be granted an appeal, they have now instructed their solicitor to bring a private civil claim for damages against Coke.

At the time of the sentencing, Dean’s family told the Evening Standard how they felt let down by the criminal justice system. They said Coke’s two-year sentence had only deepened their grief.

Now Dean’s brother, Warren, 23, an administrator, said: “We are taking this action to get us some justice. I want to highlight what my brother went through. He was the victim here  –  at the time of his death, he was surrounded by adults. They need to take responsibility for the fact that a 13-year-old boy was shot dead while they were there.

“I was thoroughly disgusted by the Attorney-General’s decision. He has robbed us of our chance to get a serious hearing. I don’t know what to say to the judge, except resign  –  he talked to the murderer as if he was the victim … He has been released two days to the year that he killed my brother. How can that be right?”

And Dean’s mother, Sylvia, 41, said: “No one tells us anything. We were told he was out on 30 June. Some people have told us he is already out. I can’t believe the justice system  –  it really isn’t fair to the victim’s family. We have suffered here. We are the ones who have been left with nothing. We have lost our world, our minds, and no one seems to care.”

Coke pleaded guilty to manslaughter and possessing the weapon, which was brought to the house in Walthamstow by another teenager.

The Old Bailey heard he loaded the Valtro 8000FS pistol with four bullets, pointed it at Dean’s head, then played with the hammer mechanism.

The gun fired at point-blank range, leaving Dean with severe injuries from which he died in hospital. Jailing Coke, Judge Hubert Dunn said: “It is an appalling, sad case. You are very young. It is a tragedy you will have to live with for the rest of your life.”

A spokesman for the Attorney-General said: “This was a tragic case and the Attorney-General has extended his deepest sympathies to the victim’s family. The Attorney-General has to take into account the relevant sentencing guidelines when deciding whether to refer a case to the Court of Appeal. His view was that in this case they did not provide grounds for a reference.”

Stuart Garcia, solicitor for Dean’s family, said the Crown Prosecution Service had believed the sentence given to Coke was “unduly lenient”.

He said: “The CPS said in a letter: ‘I would stress the senior prosecutor responsible for the handling of the case was as concerned at the actual sentence imposed’.”
