ALEPPO – Government forces have seized two further districts on Sunday – Haidariya and Sakhur -after the capture of the largest rebel held district in eastern Aleppo. Masaken Hanano was seized by rebels in 2012 and resulted in the dividing of Aleppo. Hundreds of people fled Masaken Hanano as it fell on Saturday.

ANKARA – Turkish PM Tayyip Recep Erdogan says the EU’S latest stalling of Turkey’s application to join the EU could result in Ankara allowing through millions of refugees currently living in Turkey. The EU has criticised Erdogan’s response to the failed Army coup earlier this year. ABOVE Map shows in GREEN those countries who favour Turkey’s accession to the EU and in RED those who don’t.

HAIFA  – Israel has made twelve  arrests in connection with the fires that have burned for four days. PM Benjamin Netanyahu said if the fires were started deliberately they would be treated as an act of terrorism. Education minister Naftali Bennett tweeted: ‘Only those to whom the country doesn’t belong are capable of burning it.’
