Somali MP shot dead in Mogadishu #SomaliaCivilWar

YUSUF Diri was killed by gunmen in his car. Somalia’s capital has seen a number of attacks since al Shabab were pushed out of Mogadishu by African peacekeepers in 2011. The current Somali administration is backed by the US who conduct drone strikes against the militants who they say are an affiliate of al Qaeda.

Archbishop Oscar Romero to be beatified in San Salvador #OscarRomero

OSCAR ROMERO was shot dead by an assassin in March 24, 1980 whilst delivering mass at a Cancer hospital during El Savador’s civil war. His beatification today is seen as the final step towards full sainthood.

WORLD BANK report blames ‘blockades, war and poor governance’ for pushing Gaza’s economy to the verge of collapse. Gaza has been blockaded by Israel and Egypt since 2007 after Hamas seized control of the strip because Fateh and the international community would not accept the outcome of an election that gave the militants control of the occupied territories. Since then, Israel has attacked Gaza three times on the pretext of self defence.
