LONDON – Chelsea have appointed the 46-year-old Italy boss as head coach to replace interim coach GUUS HIDDINK, who was drafted in by CHELSEA’S owner Roman Abramovich as a stand in following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. Chelsea have had a disastrous season and will struggle to get a place in the  Europa CUP.

LA LIGA – Gary Neville leaves Valencia after less than four months in charge. During his tenure, he won three games from 16, and Valencia were eliminated from the Champions League and Europa CUP. Perhaps his worst result was the 7-0 thrashing by Barcelona in the Spanish CUP semi final, first leg.

GARY Neville is due to leave Valencia at the end of the season after taking over last December. Fans burned an effigy of him at the stake following a string of poor results. Valencia are 14th in La Liga  – six points clear of relegation zone.
