SOFIA – Bulgarian Prosecutors say the Palestinian Authority said Omar Nayef Zayed had died as a result of violence on the embassy. Zayed had fled to the Palestinian embassy late last year fearing extradition to Israel. He was wanted for killing a man in Jerusalem’s OLD Quarter in 1986, but has been living in Bulgaria since 1994.

APPLE says the FBI order is seeking dangerous powers and that it violates constitutional rights. FBI asked Apple to unlock the iPhone of Syed Rizwan Farouk who along with his wife killed 14 people in December 2015.

SOMALIA – Hasan Sheikh Mohamed said between 180 to 200 Kenyan soldiers were killed in an attack at a base on January 15. The base was next to the border with Kenya.

SAVILE INQUIRY – Dame Janet Smith said disgraced broadcasters Jimmy Savile and Stuart Hall were ‘serial sexual predators’. Savile was a danger to young people –Β male and female, 34 of his victims under 16, withΒ youngest aged 8. Convicted sex offender Stuart Hall’s youngest victim was aged 10. The BBC, the reports said, missed five chances to stop them.
