PHILIPPINES – This was the biggest loss of life for the Philippines police in years as they clashed with Muslim insurgents during a search for a terror suspect. They clashed with the rebels from Moro Islamic Liberaton Front in the town of Tukanalipoa in what the town’s mayor described as a ‘misencounter’. A ceasefire between the government of this largely Roman Catholic country and rebels from its Muslim south was signed last year.
