STAMFORD BRIDGE – Chelsea remain five points clear at the top despite lots of City pressure in the second half. United are ten points behind the leaders at third, although Southampton who play tomorrow could move back into that place.

Chelsea go five points clear at the top after an unexpected defeat of Manchester City to Arsenal at the Etihad stadium. The blues showed plenty of life at the beginning of the second half, but were blown away when Olivier Giroud scored with twenty minutes to go. Arsenal played tightly in the first half and were rewarded with a penalty after that they held back and countered any City surge on the break.
The Gunners move to fifth – one point behind Manchester United and three behind third placed Southampton. But must remain outsiders in any race for the title.
